AdaptCMS v1.2 - Major Version (kinda)
 |
 @ Apr 10, 08 - 9:05 pm
After a week without posting, I feel I need to post something and I have a bit of something to reveal.
I'm always pretty quiet about the progress of AdaptCMS (always thinking how it could be incorporated into the site) and aside from a blog about the features in the next version, it's a mystery until release. (same with OneCMS) However, v1.2 of AdaptCMS will (kind of) be a major version.
I say this because several things like stats and polls have been re-structured as well as several core features, cookies have been switched to sessions and several major features are awaiting to be done, including Subscriptions, which would make big changes. I hate to call 1.2 a "Major Version", but it is not a minor upgrade. I'll call it a "mini, major version".
I'll be doing another blog about site making, if you have any suggestion on what to cover or suggestions for what our next tutorial should be, leave a comment or contact us.

New Script upcoming
 |
 @ Mar 20, 08 - 12:32 am
With the release of AdaptCMS Pro/Lite v1.1 and OneCMS being in-active, I've been mulling through possibilities for a new PHP Script. I have the intention of making a few smaller ones, but with AdaptCMS being the only major project here, I'd like to start something new.
At this point it's just ideas, but there are some possibilities already. From a Social Script (ala myspace and the like), to a Project Manager (for a coder/designer). I have a lot of big ideas, but I've really been looking to do something "vital/important", something that wouldn't apply to only very few.
AdaptBB is still, somewhat, alive with all this. You hate to throw all that work away, it is a good forum system and is really, mostly complete. But the idea of having AdaptCMS Pro/Lite, New Script AND AdaptBB is low. But all this is just in the brainstorming stages.
If you have any ideas, feedback, suggestions feel free to leave a comment! (guests can post comments temporarily)

AdaptCMS Versioning
 |
 @ Feb 15, 08 - 12:24 pm
With AdaptCMS released and doing well, I can now focus on v1.1, I've already thought of a lot of great things and one focal point is the style of versioning for AdaptCMS, I wanted to explain. Pretty much, it will stick to the style of OneCMS, rather than BlogPHP. BlogPHP was basically v1.0, v2.0 and v3.0. The problem with this is that limits the amount of versions and would mean no minimal updates. The OneCMS style of v2.0, 2.1, 2.2, etc. is the preferred choice and will be the versioning for AdaptCMS. This allows a version to happen often, but not a "major" version. At this point, the thought is a v1.1-1.5 and then a v2.0, which would be a major version. On another note, v1.1 details should be revealed early next week with (hopefully) some screen shots. The brainstorming phase is practically done, so at this point the actual coding is just now starting.

AdaptCMS v1.1, New Script
 |
 @ Feb 06, 08 - 8:20 pm
With the releases of AdaptCMS, we are gearing up for v1.1 of the script as well as adding things to the website and looking to what our next script will be. The Website With AdaptCMS Pro doing well, our store had some issues. We have now resolved those issues, rather than the AJAX setup with limitations, a more standard type. More inclusions into script directories, you can now see the Vote for Us page, which now has more websites to rate us at. AdaptCMS v1.1 AdaptCMS v1.0 of Pro and Lite has gone well, but we are already planning the next version. Bug fixes, new features, new plugins! Lite will see "S2S Messages" and the "Watermark" feature from v1.0 Pro, among many other features that will be revealed. Continued...

AdaptCMS - Release Thoughts
 |
 @ Jan 30, 08 - 4:50 pm
For those that are web developers or really the creator of any product, you know that the few weeks after release are very important. The first version of AdaptCMS went through those two weeks with bad results, however I have good news. AdaptCMS Lite is now listed at numerous script directories, the top ones being the top one Hotscripts as well as The PHP Resource Index and many others. The only "big one" I am awaiting is OpenSourceCMS, which gives OneCMS a LOT of exposure at the moment. Due to a small issue in the installation file, download numbers are skewed, but doing well. AdaptCMS Pro is also listed at a lot of directories, it's induction into Hotscripts is pending. There also has already been several buyers. As a whole, the "afterwards" of release is going well. AdaptCMS.com, statistically has been beating out normal traffic by x10. Lite being on OpenSourceCMS will help a lot, hopefully that will happen soon. Overall, I am pleased. In the coming weeks there will be some news on what's the next Insane Visions script and v1.1 for AdaptCMS! Stay tuned.

Cooling off period
 | |
@ Jan 24, 08 - 7:38 pm
With releases of 3 scripts in a span of 8 days, we here at Insane Visions are under-going a bit of a "cooling off" period. After months of work on AdaptCMS Pro and Lite as well as OneCMS, it's going to be different at the moment. One thing we'll be doing, aside from some tutorials and the sort, is the "next" project. With the last major version of OneCMS released, that leaves just AdaptCMS for active scripts. We're looking at a lot of possibilities and want YOUR opinion! Take a few seconds and vote what you think, the poll is on the right side of the page. Or make a post in our forums! Expect to see a tutorial on PHP Search and more in the coming days.

Testimonials
'I use OneCMS as the backend of my site, VisionPS3.com. Why? Because OneCMS is the best content management system that I have ever used, it is also very easy, extremely customizable, and has a very small learning curve. In addition, it comes backed by one of the most knowledgeable programmers that I know, which is Chuck, the creator of OneCMS. He never hesitated to get hands-on with the small amounts of problems I ran into, as he knows the CMS like the back of his hand. A big thanks goes out to the creator of OneCMS for creating, managing, and helping with the greatest CMS on the web!' - Jesse Wingert, Founder/Owner, VisionPS3.com
