There are numerous new features for AdaptCMS and features wise, is much different than OneCMS. In this blog I'll break down two new simple, but very important features, the "cache" feature and "save" feature". Cache Cache is one of the upcoming new things in the world of PHP and is fast becoming a "must-have"/normal feature with blog scripts and CMS's. Cache, essentially, helps with the amount of bandwith. Every object, Javascript, images, text, takes up bandwith. Say you posted a big Halo 3 review and it's on Digg, gets thousands of hits. The good news is you may have some new members and a big help in traffic. Bad news is that you have some PHP coding in that review, more and more queries. The new Cache feature in AdaptCMS (Pro and Lite) takes the content inbetween your layout (ex. article, user profile page, homepage, etc.) and saves it to a file. Say someones goes to it a few seconds later, it will fetch that file and loads faster for the user. After a certain amount of time (say 30 minutes), if someone goes to that page it will not show the cached file and instead store a new one, basically updating it. The new Cache feature does all this and you can flip it on and off with ease! Save This won't be as long to explain, simply the "Save" feature is for articles. I found it very useful with BlogPHP and with my blog. When I switched it to AdaptCMS, very soon I got very anxious to make a save feature for articles. If you start to write something and want to work on it, but want to save it, want to keep adding things before publishing it, lots of reasons and very important. All you have to do is when adding an article you will simply see a "Save" button by the button to add the article. That will save it, the article will not be shown on the homepage or anywhere aside from the admin panel. When you go to edit it, you can then update and keep it saved or update + un-save it. Very simple and easy. Conclusion I think my longest blog here, I wanted to explain thoroughly two of the numerous new features in AdaptCMS. I plan to write a few blogs explaining the basics of AdaptCMS for those new to it and what seperates it from other CMS's, in the coming weeks leading up to the releases of AdaptCMS Pro and AdaptCMS Lite.
