New Poll, more work on AdaptBB
 |
 @ Oct 03, 08 - 1:44 pm
First up is the results of Septembers Poll:
What type of software do you normally use? Other 0%
 Commercial 14.2%
 Open Source 85.7%
Neither, I write my own 0%
 Votes: 7
Not many votes, hopefully it will pick back up in October as more content will be posted this month. Talking about October, the brand new poll is up gauging interest in the two Adapt scripts - Do you currently or are you interested in using AdaptCMS or AdaptBB?
With the launch of AdaptBB.com, we will be officially launching AdaptSoftware.org as well. But more importantly is what I would consider "Major" progress on AdaptBB 1.0 in the past few days. Several exciting features are not being revealed just yet, but we have now gotten just about all main posting features done (make new topic, new reply, edit post, etc.) and are now working on permissions/authentication.
By all means there is still a lot of work left to do, from a system to know what topics and forums have been read by the user and CMS integration/Forum Converts among more forum features left to do. But with recent gains we hope to continue the progress and be able to release features and screen shots very soon! The possibility of a demo is still not going to happen really soon, but next month it's a pretty good possibility.
Stay tuned to the site, there WILL be a tutorial up this month and expect a few blogs. Thanks!

New AdaptBB.com Launched!
 |
 @ Sep 11, 08 - 1:00 pm
I wanted to pop in to announce the launch of the brand new AdaptBB.com! Here's an excerpt of the announcement:
"Welcome to the brand new AdaptBB.com! The new website for the upcoming PHP Forum script AdaptBB, is running off of AdaptCMS and once the script is in Beta form, will be used right here.
AdaptBB is a bulletin board/forum system written in PHP and MySQL powered that is currently in development. Once released, AdaptBB 1.0 will bring a lot to the new table outside from reputable customer service seen already with other Insane Visions scripts."
The new website is online right this moment, there are still some quirks to work out but well worth a peak!

 Votes: 26
Thanks everyone for voting! This months poll is up, asking the question: Which forum software do you use?
With the release of AdaptCMS 1.3 approaching in the next two weeks, we've calmed down a bit before launch, getting work done on other websites.
However all that is left to do is finish the Read Me and release. Expect to see several tutorials up this month (feel free to post suggestions) as well.

New Beta Sign-up
 | |
@ Jun 17, 08 - 12:58 pm
The beta system seems to be re-done every so often, but hopefully this one stays as-is! Although signing up for individual Beta's worked alright, participation was somewhat low so the beta signup is now consists of signing up just once!
This means after you sign up to become a beta tester, any past and future Beta's will be available for you to participate in right away. All you have to do is go to the beta area - Beta Signup. Once signed up, you can visit the same page to download Beta's. You will also see a link to the Beta Area on the top right, the control panel.
The only requirement we ask to become a beta tester is that you are a member. If you're not, be sure to register or login and head onto the Beta Signup!

New Poll, Tutorials Coming
 |
 @ May 11, 08 - 7:27 pm
I know the flow of articles and the like has been slow lately, but that's going to be changing. I got to finally release AdaptCMS v1.2 and I'll get some time to start on a few tutorials.
Be sure to vote on our new poll too, this month we're asking what style of PHP you code in - Standard, OOP (Object-Oriented), Depending on the Script or you don't know PHP.
Be sure to check out AdaptCMS v1.2 in the meanwhile and stay tuned, we're going to be having a new website part of the Insane Visions network! Happy coding.

New Script upcoming
 |
 @ Mar 20, 08 - 12:32 am
With the release of AdaptCMS Pro/Lite v1.1 and OneCMS being in-active, I've been mulling through possibilities for a new PHP Script. I have the intention of making a few smaller ones, but with AdaptCMS being the only major project here, I'd like to start something new.
At this point it's just ideas, but there are some possibilities already. From a Social Script (ala myspace and the like), to a Project Manager (for a coder/designer). I have a lot of big ideas, but I've really been looking to do something "vital/important", something that wouldn't apply to only very few.
AdaptBB is still, somewhat, alive with all this. You hate to throw all that work away, it is a good forum system and is really, mostly complete. But the idea of having AdaptCMS Pro/Lite, New Script AND AdaptBB is low. But all this is just in the brainstorming stages.
If you have any ideas, feedback, suggestions feel free to leave a comment! (guests can post comments temporarily)

New Tutorial, AdaptCMS Lite Beta Upcoming
 | |
@ Nov 29, 07 - 10:17 pm
After two days of GED testing I'm (hopefully) done with it and don't have to worry about school until college. Because of that I've been having more time on web stuff. I for one opened up a bengals website, Bengals Chatter. For IV news, I'll be posting another tutorial soon. Not 100% sure on what exactly, maybe one on sending out mail using PHP, opening and reading files or something like that. Also there will be an AdaptCMS Lite Beta signup fairly soon. In the past I've simply asked for volunteers and sent them a copy, but I think this year it will be better as you will simply fill in some info and when the beta is available, you will be able to download it. That should be in the coming weeks.

New forum system Online
 | |
@ Oct 31, 07 - 7:44 pm
A new forum system is online here at Insane Visions, it's an early build of the upcoming AdaptBB. Let me add that for those that have an old user account, please re-register. The old users database was kept for quite a while, but unfortunately can no longer be used. For about 3-6 months all new users have been registered in the new system, but just in case you may want to register and if the username exists, then you're ok. (only do this if you have been a member longer than 2 months) As for the forums system, it is a very stable and much more feature rich system, as well as much better looking. Take a look at it and tell us what you think!

Network Site Issues
 | |
@ Oct 30, 07 - 6:46 pm
I just wanted to apologize to all customers and visitors alike for the server issues experienced on all network sites. My host has been having some problems including MySQL going offline and 500 errors. I'm unsure of what the reason for the problems are at this moment, but I will update this post when I know for sure. As for if these issues have been fixed, I am not completely sure. These problems have been off and on, but if not already fixed, will be very shortly. Thank you.

New version of OneCMS?
 | |
@ Sep 15, 07 - 1:30 pm
Once again, I know, quite a bit of time between updates. Work, moving and a lot of things going on all at once. AdaptCMS has been released but not really bringing in traffic. I do think paid commercial scripts where I can put special attention is important but also alternatives, is very important. There are no specifics but I do now have plans to put out a new version of OneCMS, which would be OneCMS v2.5. There hasn't been a release in quite a while and it was planned for Fall and put off, but I plan on beginning work on it soon.

New download landmarks
 | |
@ Mar 07, 06 - 3:55 pm
Congratulations to BlogPHP and OneCMS for reaching the 2000 and 1000 download marks respectively. BlogPHP has 2192 downloads total (expect that to jump with v2.0 release) and OneCMS has almost 4500 total downloads.

Testimonials
I use OneCMS as the backend of my site, VisionPS3.com. Why? Because OneCMS is the best content management system that I have ever used, it is also very easy, extremely customizable, and has a very small learning curve. In addition, it comes backed by one of the most knowledgeable programmers that I know, which is Chuck, the creator of OneCMS. He never hesitated to get hands-on with the small amounts of problems I ran into, as he knows the CMS like the back of his hand. A big thanks goes out to the creator of OneCMS for creating, managing, and helping with the greatest CMS on the web! |||||2 - Jesse Wingert, Founder/Owner, VisionPS3.com |
