AdaptCMS 2.0 - January 31st
 |
 @ Jan 31, 10 - 8:56 pm
With the recent significant work done on the Alpha build of AdaptCMS 2.0, I figured it was time for a blog on the progress.
Overall the status of the script is good, but an actual release - let alone beta release is still a ways off. The ACP and basic frontend features are nearing completion - but new features, refinement, new design and then the new adaptcms.com/insanevisions.com websites.
But in the near term the basics of most of the features should be wrapped up soon - next will be new features as well as starting on some of the insanevisions/adaptcms new websites. I'll be getting designs pretty soon.
Anyways, onto the blog.

AdaptCMS 2.0 - November 20th
 | |
@ Nov 20, 09 - 10:19 pm
The second blog of AdaptCMS 2.0 and just 4 months after the first one! Progress was zero for several months and just in the past month has some work been done.
2.0 still has a long ways to go, but some resemblance of an admin panel should be somewhat finished by the end of the month. A skin for the front and backend will be purchased soon afterwards and from there the rest of the admin panel, frontend, more advanced features and the new IV/AdaptCMS.com!
With that said there are more features I want to talk about since last time. Onto the blog!

AdaptCMS 2.0 - July 27th
 | |
@ Jul 28, 09 - 12:54 am
The very first blog of AdaptCMS 2.0! At this point no coding or
design work has been done yet, some very early testing and a lot of
brainstorming. Because of that, this blog will esentially be just
covering some of the bigger ideas we have in mind for 2.0, somewhat
fleshed out.
Most of the features mentioned in this blog are part of this new "IV Connect/IV Share/Insert name here" idea, that connects not only the AdaptCMS website and Insane Visions, but all AdaptCMS powered websites with each other in various ways.
Anyways, onto the blog!

AdaptCMS 1.4 - September 17th
 |
 @ Sep 17, 08 - 3:56 pm
With the announcement that AdaptCMS 1.4 would be delayed, I did want to get a start on it with the features already thought of and luckily I was able to. Some of the features already done in AdaptCMS 1.4 aren't "huge" but useful.
- Pagination - For the front main page and section pages, this has been something important missing so visitors can see all past articles.
- Users Online - Pretty small but users and guests online have been adjusted so that the # of users online is more efficient and guests online now includes bots. When listing users online, it does list bots.
- Comments Quote - Another small but nifty feature, you simple click on "Quote" by the comment you want to quote and it inserts the comment within quote tags into the text area, just making commenting easier.
- Admin Search - Suggested to me not long ago, located above the "Support Search" feature, you can easily search articles, comments, fields, files, galleries, pages, settings, templates and users.
- Postpone Article - This is a feature in OneCMS, but much better. You can select a date and time for the article to be published at that time. Before that time it will only be visible in the admin panel, but can be manually published at any time.
It may or may not seem like a lot, it isn't that much though it's some nifty useful stuff so far. This blog today is kind of like a "micro-blog", just briefly describing some of the new features, in this case just what's done so far.

AdaptBB - 1.0 Features
 |
 @ Aug 15, 08 - 12:24 pm
Today we have here for you a new blog on a few of the biggest features that you will be seeing in AdaptBB 1.0. Here you go:
"With the announcement of AdaptBB finally going under serious development for the first time in over 2 years, the release of AdaptBB 1.0 is finally going to happen and the work continues.
When it was decided that AdaptBB would be happening, it was then of course time to start the brainstorming. Whereas the CMS market is competitive, but has some holes and much to expand on, the forum market is practically locked up tightly but the two most popular - phpBB (open source) and vBulletin (paid)."

AdaptCMS 1.3 - June 13th
 |
 @ Jun 13, 08 - 2:12 pm
Editors Note: With our new blog here at AdaptCMS.com,
we'll be doing some mini-blogs about new features upcoming and recently
finished, ideas and such. Expect to see them a few times a month!
It's been now a little over a month since the release of AdaptCMS
1.2 and a few weeks since the last blog and it seems like release is so
far away. When working on v1.2 it seemed like it was going to be the
only major version (other than 1.0) until 1.5, now it seems that I was
wrong.
Whether or not 1.3 is a Major version really depends on
whether User Subscriptions make it in or not. I really would like to
try to get it in, it would delay release, but at the same time the Read
Me isn't exactly close to being finished at this point and the extra
time would be useful.
Although I don't know when 1.3 will be out, I can say it won't be
for a little while (a Beta will probably be out in late June or
early-mid July) and that there are still quite a bit left to do, but it
already feels like a major version!

AdaptCMS - v1.3 Features
 |
 @ May 22, 08 - 10:23 pm
I've written a new blog about a few of the biggest new features that will be debuting in AdaptCMS v1.3, here it is:
"Now onto the 4th release of AdaptCMS (since the split into AdaptCMS
Lite and AdaptCMS Pro), the development process goes on as work has
begun on AdaptCMS v1.3.
When working on v1.2 there were numerous features thought of that
were pushed to v1.3, several of which are major and done already."

AdaptCMS - RSS Importer
 |
 @ Mar 05, 08 - 2:09 am
A blog has been posted on a Pro exclusive feature for the upcoming AdaptCMS v1.1. Here is an excerpt: "Besides being essential for websites that run on feeding RSS feeds, the RSS Importer plugin has many other uses. When I ran PAX Gamers.com later on, I found adding news a pretty boring task and with this plugin a game website could feed through game news and then handle the rest. Not only that, but there's so much potential to expand."

AdaptCMS - Cache and Save
 |
 @ Jan 12, 08 - 10:46 pm
A new blog on the upcoming AdaptCMS, discussing the cache feature as well as a new "save" feature, here is an excerpt: "There are numerous new features for AdaptCMS and features wise, is much different than OneCMS. In this blog I'll break down two new simple, but very important features, the "cache" feature and "save" feature."

I tried five different content management systems before I settled on OneCMS. OneCMS has proved itself to be very powerful, capable and easily customizable. The support has been fantastic; any little problems or questions I had were answered in one day. This software comes with my highest recommendations. - George Lester, Founder/Webmaster, NintendoFocus.com |
